Well, we finally went back to the pet shop and the kitty was still there. It wasn't on Saturday (too bad, it would have been part of the "Saturday tradition" :-)). We went on Sunday afternoon.
I decided to name her Mijke (pronounced May-kah, I think) after the Oxalis "Mijke". It's a plant that has dark leaves and little white (or pink) flowers. So, since she's black and white, I thought it fit! There's a picture of the plant at this site. It's actually a neat looking plant! I would like to plant some, but I don't know if they sell it here.
The kids are thrilled, and Lucas keeps telling me that he really likes her (as opposed to Bungee, I assume). She's not too impressed with Boomer yet. She keeps hissing and spitting at him. I don't remember Bungee acting that way! Oh well, it is only her first day here so she may adjust in time. Boomer probably just looks really big to her (she's about 3 months old).
