Boyd Bear Tracks

This blog has been created so you can track us Boyd bears down and peek in at what we're doing. Just don't touch the porridge!

So, is it springtime there yet? Probably not until the end of March, huh? Oh well, here we're about to enter the rainy season. It hasn't started yet (it's been sunny and warm), but the rains are sure to come. We did have hail one day. Not as bad as when I was a girl (I remember it filled my little red wagon), but it sure was noisy!

Today the youth are going to finish painting our multi-purpose building. Actually, they started last week but it needs another coat (or maybe two--I guess it's possible that they won't finish today.). I have not been involved. I decided that I didn't want to dig two kids out of the paint bucket every couple of minutes :-)!

So, last week we went to the mall and picked out a new fish. Lucas wanted to call him "Baldor" (good Viking name?), but Ellie prevailed with "Beau" (#2). Lucas gave in nicely. I think it's because he could never remember the name he had picked anyway. We saw several cute puppies! There were some teeny tiny ones (I think they were chihuahuas). Ellie and Lucas said they wanted one. But, I don't think Jon would be too happy! Plus, I wonder if Bungee would think it was a big rat and kill it!

Yesterday's project for art was to make paper mache puppet heads. I decided we would do the planets instead (to eventually hang in Lucas' room). We're going to work on them today (yesterday we were researching the sizes). Lucas was amazed to learn that if the earth is the size of a marble, Jupiter is the size of a soccer ball! I wonder how many days it would take to "circle the earth" if it were Jupiter? :-)
