Boyd Bear Tracks

This blog has been created so you can track us Boyd bears down and peek in at what we're doing. Just don't touch the porridge!

My Sunday school lesson went really well. There are some kids who are going to need some reining in, but I pulled out the old "treasure box". If they behave, at the end of the month they get to choose a "treasure". Lucas and Eliana already asked me if they get to pick a "treasure" if they behave all month :-).

Boomer seems to be doing well. He's put on some weight. It probably helped that he got over his "blockade" and got into the dog food :-(. He wasn't very hungry that day (obviously!!--the stinker!). Today was the last day for his antibiotic and I haven't been to the vet in a week (a new record!). He is growing and he's learning too. Now if I say "give," he'll let go of his bone. I think the kids taught him that lesson! They would say "give" and pry his mouth open. So, now he's trained! He does really well at sit/stay...when he's waiting for his food. We're still working on "come" (especially when there are distractions).

Ellie is the one who is sick now. There has been a virus going around, but I hope she didn't catch that! She hasn't been able to keep anything down today, but she has been pretty chipper. I told her she shouldn't eat much because her tummy isn't happy. However, she wanted to eat popcorn so she assured me "my tummy happy now"!

I think she is finally potty trained! She's so cognizant of when she needs to go. Last night at the mall I took her to the bathroom about every 10 minutes! We were in a bookstore and had to go out of the bookstore then, all the way up to the second floor to get to the bathroom. I guess I got my exercise on the "stair climb machine"! But, she kept her pants dry!

Lucas went with Jon on the Transmilenio (a big bus) today. He told me that when he's bigger he'd like to go on it by himself. I asked him when that would be and he told me "When I'm seven". I don't think so! I told him probably when he's 16! :-)
