I know. . . I haven't written in a while! I haven't done my "homework". But, I was abducted by. . . "morning" sickness (all day sickness, rather). And my dog ate. . .what I couldn't. Actually he's not getting any exercise so he's not eating too well either. Or maybe it is that, when I leave the table, Marcos likes to throw his food at Boomer to see if he can catch it (following my bad example, unfortunately!). I will say that Boomer never rejects the sardine I give him once a week (I read somewhere that sardines have good vitamins for Husky's coats :-)).
So. . . here's the cause of all the trouble:
This was at 14 weeks. It's pretty amazing that everything is already in place and just has to grow by then! Size wise, I think at 14 weeks they're as big as a lemon. This one is camera shy! :-)
Jon wrote a little about the flood in our house. What he didn't say was that we were desperately looking around for another house to rent (since the first option fell through), and had found another house that we thought might work for us. I think it was the exact day that we decided that it probably wouldn't work out after all and that we would stay here that the water came in and ran like a river down the hallway to all the rooms. Nothing like confirmation that you're making the right decision!!! :-)
Lucas had a great time "shoveling water with me into the "breeze-way" (one drain that was working), and using our hallway as a "Slip-and-Slide". Sorry the video is sideways. I couldn't figure out how to rotate it (and I don't have time to research it :-)).
Ellie lost another tooth (this one came out on its own :-)), and she got some new glasses. Her other ones broke and it had been a year since her last checkup (time flies!!!).
Marcos has been a little bear lately. He was sick, and he has some teeth coming in. Plus, I think he's entering the "terrific" twos! :-( But, he does have moments of sweetness! One day, he saw Jon grab a dish out of the dish rack: so, he ran and grabbed a towel and handed it to Jon. He knew that Daddy would need a towel to dry the dish. Also, anytime he hears someone crying he says, "BEBE" (baby). Sometimes he starts crying too. His siblings don't like to be called "crybabies" :-), but I think it's cute!
I'm not exactly sure when we will start school again. I usually plan for after Labor Day, but we'll be travelling to Ecuador for a conference. I've never been to Ecuador so it will be interesting to see another South American country. I just hope everyone does well on the plane--including baby!!:-) Maybe I can call it the start of school and mark it down as a field trip. . . just kidding! I'm am excited about all that we'll learn this year. We'll be continuing our study of U.S. History. There's a big, thick, colorful book on the World Wars that Lucas wants to get his hands on :-). Ellie is excited about her new recorder that we'll start to learn to play. Marcos, well, I think he would love to have a desk of his own so that he can join in all the fun. He already was starting to steal Lucas' or Ellie's chair at the end of last year. I may have to rig something for him :-).
