This blog has been created so you can track us Boyd bears down and peek in at what we're doing. Just don't touch the porridge!

Finally, Marcos has begun to express himself! I guess he expressed himself before, but not in understandable words.

Here are the words he says:

"Baah" for ball (this was his first word--actually quite a while ago. When he quit speaking, he didn't give up this one!!)

"Ow" for out and also ouch. He says this one a lot--when he's in his crib, when he's in his highchair, when he's in your lap. . .basically when he wants freedom! Also, for when he's running down the hall and falls. Then he comes looking for me rubbing his head and saying "ow". He always wants a kiss and hug and then he takes off running again!

"Shhh" for shoes. This one is really cute. Every morning he gets up and looks around for his shoes while saying "shhhh". Then he brings them to me and sits down so I can put them on.

"Ah-Wah" (agua) for water. This is one of his Spanish words :-).
"Mah-Mah" which I would like to think is the Spanish way of saying Mama (he accents the 2nd syllable). However, this is what he calls me, Jon, and himself. Also, it's a word he uses when he wants something (help opening something, or getting him out of somewhere when he can't see me--when he does see me he says "ow"). Basically it's just to get someone's attention.

"Ah-lah" (hola) His version of Hello.
I've been trying to get him to say "please". He used to rub his chest to say it in sign language, so I pointed at my mouth and repeated "please". He tries to say it but it sounds nothing like please. He points to his mouth and says "booh". :-) Oh well, some day he'll get it!

One of the more recent words is "nack" (Bet you can't guess what that means?!!). His favorite are chips.

One other little tidbit. . .he now climbs out of his Pack and Play! And, back in again if he drops a toy in there! Today he started trying to climb the bars on the front window (they're on the inside of the window and the holes are triangular--perfect as a ladder!). So, we have a little monkey on our hands!

Jon just bought a motorcycle. So, we had to get a picture of the three kids on it. They think it's really neat!!
