Boyd Bear Tracks

This blog has been created so you can track us Boyd bears down and peek in at what we're doing. Just don't touch the porridge!

Every week when we learn a new letter we do a "crazy activity" having to do with that letter. When we worked on the letter "T" (which I teach by sound, not by name), Lucas picked out the activity "Toast Tuna". He doesn't even like tuna! But, Jon and I had a nice tuna sandwich for lunch :-)! I think Lucas felt really important being able to "cook" all by himself.

Here's an updated picture of "the boys". They still bite and attack each other, but I assume they're not hurting each other because neither of them cries. I couldn't put Beau in the picture because Bungee wouldn't have payed attention. Poor Beau has been put on a high shelf because Bungee discovered he was on the table (and tried to "dip" him out!).

Here are Ellie and Makayla on a "tapir" at the park. We had a missionary team picnic and field day. It was a very nice, sunny day. The Carters won the frisbee toss; however, we got prizes (candies) for participation too :-)--wouldn't want to miss out on that!

The kids enjoyed exploring the playgrounds. Actually, one playground is a big cube with a maze you have to climb through. All four kids climbed right in and went up to the top. Then, they couldn't get out! Fortunately, Amy (an older missionary kid) went to the rescue. :-)!

Now we're getting ready for a youth lock-in on Friday night. The kids will stay with the Carters, so at least they'll get some sleep. But, Jon and I will probably be up all night! I'm sure, after this weekend, it will be a long time before we do a lock-in again. Somehow, staying up all night is not as exciting as it used to be! Or maybe it wasn't exciting before either, just necessary (you know--writing that 15 page paper that was due the next day and somehow hadn't been made a priority :-)!). But, several people have been inviting their friends; so, we may have a good group of kids. Plus, it would be neat if this could be the beginning of growth in the youth group. We'll see!
