Well, believe it or not Lucas is now reading! Of course, they´re only 2 and 3 letter words. But, it is exciting! The funny thing is, I don´t think he realizes that he´s reading. Maybe, when he starts seeing the words in sentences instead of on their own, it´ll sink in that he´s reading.
Last week we learned the letter "a", so now we´ve been able to add that to the consonants he´s already learned to make words. Plus, I have been reading words to him and having him write them (like bat, bam, fat, etc.). He does really well at knowing which letters to write. I did throw him for a loop today though (blame it on the curriculum). He was supposed to write "a rat" and he didn´t know which letter made the "u" sound :-). Other than that, school seems to be going pretty smoothly. He is definitely not excited about school anymore, but at least now he knows that it´s a part of our daily routine.
Eliana has been sick with a cold. And, I think she´s shared it with the rest of us. Lucas is coughing now, and my throat is sore. Jon has been really tired. Although, it could be that we´re still recovering from the youth all-nighter (ah, to be young again! :-) One youth suggested that we do an all-nighter every two weeks!!...Not if I can help it!
Rainy season has started and our roof hasn´t leaked. So, I think it´s fixed! Praise the Lord!! The only bad thing is that since Boomer is outside while we´re gone, he gets all muddy. Plus, for some reason, he likes to dig my plants out of the mud.:-(
Jon is constantly asking why we have pets because they´re so much of a bother. Well, Boomer HAS started barking, so maybe he scares people away when we´re not home :-) And Bungee, well, when he gets bigger we won´t have to worry about mice in the house :-). Anyway, they do have their redeeming qualities, it´s just that you have to think for awhile to come up with some :-).
