We've been reading about Martin Luther as part of school. Today, Lucas was supposed to "re-tell" me a story he'd heard this week. I was surprised that he picked Martin Luther! We did have shorter easier ones like "The Crow and the Pitcher" or "The Goose that laid Golden Eggs". But, he picked Martin Luther, so here's his retelling of it (with my comments in parenthesis so if you reprint it you can edit them out :-)):

"That Martin Luther cut his leg, and he almost got hit (here I had to ask by what?). . .by a bolt of lightning. He went to a city and stopped them from doing bad stuff. (Like what?) Selling little papers that God didn't like (just so you know--indulgences. I really didn't expect him to remember that word!). And he was important. He pounded something on the door that was little questions (95 Theses). And then the people turned good. (Well, not really, but Luther did help to initiate some reforms in the church.)"

I just thought I would pass it along so you can see how his little brain functions :-)! He honed right in on Luther cutting his leg with a sword and almost being struck by lightning. I was surprised by some of the other things he remembered! I guess he really was listening after all :-)!
