Meet Bungee!

Playing with the kids

Playing with Boomer´s tail

Finally, on Monday, we were able to go and pick up our kitty. The vet said he is a male (although someone else said it was a female--so who knows? Probably the vet knows better.) At first he was a little "scaredy cat", but now he cries for attention whenever he is awake! For now, he´s locked up in the bathroom; and, in the morning (as soon as he hears voices) he starts clamoring for attention. Eliana is happy to give it to him! The only problem is, we have to make sure Boomer is locked up or outside before Bungee gets out.

They are beginning to get used to each other. Boomer REALLY wants to play (but, not cat style). Bungee likes to play with Boomer´s tail, or attack his back. So far Boomer hasn´t seemed to mind. However, whenever he sees the kitten running his "prey drive" kicks in and he wants to give chase (it probably wouldn´t have a happy ending so Boomer has to stay on a leash).

Ellie loves "her" kitty! She´s always chasing him and picking him up. Lucas hasn´t really seemed to be super excited about the cat, but he enjoys wiggling the "fishing rod" toy.

Ellie is a little sick (well, actually she´s got a bad cough and has been running a fever). She cries every time she wakes up, but fortunately she has a distraction (Bungee) to make her happy again. I will be glad when she feels better since I haven´t been having very good nights of sleep either! Of course, I have a sore throat too (she must have passed it to me :-(). At least Lucas only has a runny nose and Jon is fine.

We had a fun 4th of July picnic with the other missionaries, and Boomer "performed" the 3 tricks he knows :-)! We even had fireworks, but in the daylight so we didn´t see them very well. I didn´t remember that I had taken the camera, so I didn´t take any pictures.:-( The Bilbreys brought their dog Frau and the Carters brought Taz; plus, there are two boxer puppies on the property, so we had quite a "dog-party". Boomer was the new kid on the block (all the other dogs know each other), so he was a little shy. The kids had fun chasing the dogs around :-)!

Now, we´re relaxing a little bit (especially since some of us are sick) before next week. We´ll be hosting a young man who is here as an IMPACTer (I think?--college age short term missionary). I hope he´s not allergic to dogs and cats :-)! Unfortunately, the school room is still not organized! Somehow that project needs to move to the top of the priority list!
