I was at the vet the other day and he mentioned that he had picked up a stray cat, and she had just delivered kittens. He asked if I wanted one. I thought there was no way Jon would let us get another pet (especially a cat), but I convinced him :-). I probably should say that Eliana helped because she's always talking about "kitties". So, in about a month, we'll be able to pick up our new kitty. Eliana is very excited! Lucas is not so happy. Because she's so interested in kitties, it will probably be Eliana's cat; so, Lucas wants his own dog (it's become apparent that Boomer is mine :-)--he doesn't obey Jon too well). I don't know if I can convince Jon that another pet would be nice (maybe Lucas would be happy with a guinea pig or a hamster).
We've all been pretty healthy so far. Jon has a cold now and Lucas woke up coughing this morning, but otherwise nothing serious. The pastor's girls were both in the hospital with bronchial pneumonia this last week. They're finally home, but they're still in recovery so I'm sure they would appreciate your prayers.
Ellie is turning three on Sunday. I can't believe we're finally beyond the baby stage (no pacifiers or diapers). We won't be celebrating her birthday on Sunday because there are presedential elections. Sometimes it can be an insecure time (besides the fact that a lot of people have to come to Bogota to vote--church attendance will probably be low). So, we'll probably celebrate her birthday next week. That'll be good because by then the Alonso girls will probably be better and can come. Eliana would be sad if "Camilita" (Camila) couldn't come!
Lucas is so funny! He loves telling "stories". The other day he watched a movie; then, he proceeded to tell Jon the whole story! He remembered it all too! I don't think Jon was too thrilled to sit there for 15 minutes listening to the story. Lucas doesn't really tell it, he yells it.:-) Plus, it can get confusing because Lucas starts quoting lines and then adds his own sound effects; all while trying to tell the story (which makes it a little choppy). Lucas does have a good memory though! He remembered the whole story and even quoted some lines (after only seeing the movie once).
