Yep, I knew that would get your attention! Fortunately, it didn't involve another car--only me and the garge door :-(. I blame it on the stick shift. I pulled into the garage (which is very narrow) and nicked the front bumper. I stopped because of the noise and the look on Jon's face. Then, when I tried to pull the car the rest of the way in the garage, it rolled back and hit the garage door (again); popping the headlight and turn signal light out. Oh joy!! I did manage to get them to go back in their place and you can't really even tell they were pulled out (unless you're a mechanic!). Needless to say, Jon had to finish pulling the car into the garage (and he wasn't too happy--but, he was nice about it). To end this story, I don't feel so bad because a couple of days later Jon put a small dent in the back fender when he was pulling into the garage :-). We're going to have to practice driving into our garage :-)! I'm glad this never happened when we were using the mission van!
We've also had a couple of house issues lately. It took half the day for our guard/fix-it man to fix a leak under the kitchen sink. He and Jon went to the center of town to get a part; then, he got lost because he's always walked and never gone in a car before. So, he had Jon wait for him in a spot while he went to get the part. Unfortunately, then he couldn't remember where Jon was! How funny! They did make it back though.
Also, the roof in the living room is leaking, so we have about 8 buckets (different sizes) to catch the water. The bad thing is, it's been raining a lot lately! Fortunately, no furniture got wet. Actually, it was Lucas who first noticed that it had started leaking. He's a pretty observant little guy :-). It's a good thing he noticed, because it got a lot worse during the night (half-filled a couple of buckets!).
Boomer is doing a lot better. I have to take him to the vet today to make sure we got rid of whatever bacterial infection he had. He is looking chubbier (he was down to skin and bones for a little bit). Ellie thinks she is his Mommy! She is constantly telling him to "sit" and pulling him into her lap. She likes to take his toys and throw them for him to fetch; then, she says "div" (give), "div," "div" while she tries to get him to let go of the toy. It's pretty funny. I feel sorry for Boomer.
Oh, and something interesting we did--We went ice-skating! Yes, in Bogotá Colombia! Jon and I went to a rink on a date. It was a little expensive (especially considering that in Minnesota they're free!), but we had fun. It was funny to see all the people hanging on to the sides of the rink and going around and around. Of course, many of them had probably never ice-skated before. Jon and I made them feel better by "wiping out" a couple of times (not on purpose, though).
