Well, Boomer has been getting better and then getting sick all over again for a couple of weeks now. He's back on a couple of antibiotics. Today the vet said he suspects Boomer may have Distemper (a fatal disease). Tomorrow we take him in to do some tests. The vet says he's been so sick because of his origin (since we got him at a shelter he was probably picked up off the street). I'm just hoping that he gets better soon and we don't have to take drastic measures! It would not be good if our kids lost their "doggy"! I think the one who would be most affected (besides me) would be Ellie. She loves her dog/baby.
The kids are doing well. Ellie has been working on potty training. She stays dry for a day and then can't keep her pants dry the next day. I told her we won't call her grandparents (to tell them she's potty trained) until she really is potty trained. I think the biggest reason she wants to learn is that she wants to be big like Makayla (her little missionary kid buddy).
Lucas had a funny thought one day. We were driving towards Chia and saw some geese. We were talking about how they're big and heavy, but God made them so that they are good flyers and they can soar for long distances. He told us that people can fly too. I thought he was talking about maybe in an ultralight or a hang-glider. However, he went on to say "Dad your back sores a lot too". Meaning that Jon has been mentioning that his back is sore a lot (it's actually his neck--I think because of his pillow). Anyway, it was really funny that Lucas was mixing up "soars" and "sores" or "is sore". We all had a good laugh!
We've started helping out with the music on Sundays. My fingers are sore from playing the guitar. Hopefully (if I practice a lot), they'll get calloused soon :-). This weekend they have a couples meeting (after the youth meeting). I don't know if we're going or not, but in case we do please pray for sanity :-). The meeting is over about 8:30 pm, then we have to drive home (the least amount of time is 30 min.), and get up early Sunday to be in Chia again at 8 a.m. I don't know how the kids will do. Usually Mondays are recovery days (from the fluctuations in their routine). But, as Jon reminds me--we've dedicated our kids to God and He can take care of them. Maybe they'll get to be really flexible and adapt quickly to any circumstance :-).
