Boyd Bear Tracks

This blog has been created so you can track us Boyd bears down and peek in at what we're doing. Just don't touch the porridge!

We had a party for Eliana yesterday (her actual birthday :-)) and it was really fun. We had a couple of her friends from school come. The theme was rabbits (because of Stockings) so we ate a lot of veggies. And, of course, hotdogs since that's her favorite food. Even though it's not really something a rabbit would eat :-). She ate some broccoli, but really she just used it like a brush to get some dip and then suck it off the broccoli. Oh well, someday she'll eat veggies! She does like fruit (especially Mango). She did a good job eating her cake. Definitely not as messy as her first birthday! She even opened most of her presents by herself. Although, after awile she got tired of having her new toy taken away and receiving another wrapped present. So, I ended up opening a couple presents :-). There really aren't many pictures of Lucas, but it's her day to shine. He'll have his chance next month :-). He already told me he wants a shark cake :-)!! Oh boy, we're getting to the years when they ask for a specific cake and I can't just pick the theme myself. Oh well, it will still be fun to try and find cake ideas on the web.

We have begun to get into a routine. As soon as Jon walks out the door we switch to Spanish. Then the kids play while I do household things. At 9 am we watch Bob the Builder (in Spanish, of course) on our "giant" TV (5.5 inches). Then we go to the park and meet our "buddies." When we get home we do a craft and then eat lunch and by that time Jon gets home and we switch to English again. The morning usually seems to go pretty quickly. It's been interesting to see how Lucas communicates with me in "Spanglish."

Ellie seems to be interested in potty training. She says "I poopy" and goes in the bathroom and takes her diaper off (a potentially dangerous situation). She never does anything, but she likes to sit on her little seat. When she thinks she's done, she always wants to wash her hands. Actually, if I'm not paying attention to where she is, she usually ends up in the bathroom playing with the soap in the sink. Guess I better keep the door closed :-). I'm thinking she'll be a lot easier to train than Lucas was (hopefully!).
