Boyd Bear Tracks

This blog has been created so you can track us Boyd bears down and peek in at what we're doing. Just don't touch the porridge!

We've added a few more creatures to our repertoire. I caught a little lizard swimming in Boomer's water bowl. He ran up my arm and onto my back so I had to have Jon help me get him off :-). Then, he was so exhausted that he just sat on my hand for the photo op :-)! I think he was hugging me and saying, "Thanks soooo much for saving me!!!" :-)

Another day, Alfredo chased an iguana for a block and finally caught it. It was near our house. Apparently it's illegal to have an iguana here. People catch them and kill them so they can eat the iguana eggs (which supposedly are quite delicious). So, after our photo shoot, we put it up in the mango tree in front of our house. We haven't seen it again.

Here are a couple of "water creatures". At least, we would like to be so that we could spend all day in the water and keep cool :-)! For Mother's Day we went up the mountain a bit to a cabin. It was a little cooler up there. Plus, being in the pool was refreshing. So, for a day at least, we were able to beat the heat!

I can't believe we are already in May. I'm gearing up to make Ellie's birthday cake. She said she wanted a horse cake. But, she wouldn't let me be in charge of choosing the pattern for the cake. She told me EXACTLY how she wanted it done :-). She even suggested that if I thought making a horse out of marshmallows was too hard, she could do it. Fortunately, her design is not too difficult. Basically a round cake with a marshmallow horse on top. When she said "horse cake" I envisioned sculpting a horse shape out of cakes . . . and then trying to ice it!! I'm relieved!! :-)
