Whew!! I'm back (for now at least :-))!
We're getting close to finishing school. I'm planning on going until the last day of May. Then. . ."hasta la vista" school :-)! Well, truthfully, we'll probabaly finish up the read-alouds and maybe even throw in a math worksheet or two during the summer. But, it won't be "school". I think the way you categorize it makes all the difference!
Eliana has been writing poems for the last couple of weeks. I'll include a few here!
Babies
Sometimes babies have hair.
Sometimes babies have chubby legs.
Sometimes babies are cute.
Sometimes babies smile.
Sometimes babies play.
Sometimes babies cry, so loud!
Babies make me feel good because they're so sweet.
Butterflies
Butterflies are cute.
They seem soft like a blanket.
Butterflies are quiet like fishys.
They look like a fairy
Because fairies have wings.
Eliana is pretty descriptive! She loves to tell stories and pretend things. I think she might make a great writer when she grows up :-).
Lucas is progressing a lot in his reading. He even reads with expression and tries to make the different characters speak differently. He also is already almost done learning all his multiplication facts (I think he's just missing the 8s). He's really quick at them. I still have to check the answers on the back because I never quite "assimilated" them :-) (okay so they didn't seem that important and I didn't learn them!).
Marcos is growing a lot! He just started eating cereal this week. He was smiling at the camera, so I was able to get the first spoonful in. He made a horrible face for the first bite.
After that first grimace, he started leaning towards the spoon and couldn't get enough. I think he was ready for solid foods :-)! Here's the "When do I get more?" stare:
