Finally, I have something to write about! We've been on vacation and haven't been doing much--unless you count getting everything ready for the new school year, and doing our regular church activities. Other than that . . . I've been enjoying getting up later than usual and relaxing a little bit.
But, tomorrow is the big day! We start First Grade! It looks like it's going to be a fun year. I've already previewed almost all the books (I decided I wouldn't read all the science books, or the big history book). I have a couple of preschool activity books, so Ellie will probably be "in school" too (at least some of the time).
This last weekend we had the Annual Meeting of all the churches. It's always so fun to see lots of people I know. This year I played the guitar, so I got to be "in the thick of it"!
During the Saturday meetings, one of my strings broke (right during the preaching). I was holding the guitar so it gave me quite a start! Since it had broken towards the end of the string, I was able to fix it before we sang again. I was a little nervous that the string might break again while I was tightening it, but it didn't. It didn't break again on Sunday or even during the Monday meetings, so I don't know what I did to make it break on Saturday.
The kids seemed to have lots of fun in their classes. But, their favorite were the "inflatables" that the directors had rented. They loved bouncing around on them. I didn't get any pictures of Lucas; but, here's Ellie with a friend she made.

Lucas and Ellie just had their last gymnastics class yesterday, and they were sad to be done. But, I will probably start looking for some other class they can join. It will be an easy way to program Physical Education :-), not to mention the benefits of socialization and hearing Spanish.
