Boyd Bear Tracks

This blog has been created so you can track us Boyd bears down and peek in at what we're doing. Just don't touch the porridge!

Well, here I am typing at the computer and Bungee is next to me batting at the cursor running across the computer screen. Boomer is tied up outside because he dug in the mud and is soaking wet (it rained). I´m not too happy with him :-(!
Jon went with a young man from our church to share the Gospel with his (the young man´s) family.

I´m including a picture of the "Lion of Judah" and the "Lamb of God". When they first got their costumes they wore them for almost the whole day! It´s such a cute picture, I didn´t want the Grandpa´s and Grandma´s to miss out (and the Uncles, and the Aunts, etc. :-)). Too bad I didn´t put it in a photo contest. I could have won a lot of money :-). Here, people keep telling me I should take the kids to audition for pictures or movies. Mostly just because in this country their coloring is such a novelty. But, regardless, they are cute!

I can´t believe how quickly time is flying! I just have this week "free," and then the next week we´ll be at a youth camp. Unfortunately, we´ll not only be at camp, but we´ll be doing school as well. It will probably be pretty hard to concentrate what with a pool and activities and all. Oh well, we´ll do our best (or at least I will--I hope Lucas does too :-)).

Lucas has now read three books (short ones). He had some trouble with one book, but I´m sure that after a couple of weeks if he reads it again it will be a lot easier for him. I´m constantly amazed at how far we´ve gotten. He´s been learning so many new things!

In Math, he´s been learning about patterns and he can identify and continue an ABAB or ABBABB pattern. Plus, he can count up to 40 now (although, really only maybe to 39 because he doesn´t remember the word "forty", yet).

He loves sitting and listening to the "read-aloud" books. We just finished "The Family Under the Bridge" about a hobo who kind of "adopted" a family and then decided to change his way of life to provide for them. Now we´re reading "Twenty and Ten" which is about 10 Jewish children that were hidden with 20 French children in the mountains during WWII. It´s pretty interesting! Yes, I couldn´t contain myself and I already read almost all of the books that came with the curriculum. Of course it was just to make sure they were okay for Lucas (grin).

Ellie has become very interested in having a baby. She usually stuffs a doll up her shirt and then tells it that it needs to stay there until it is time for it to be born. She keeps telling me that she wants and sister and Lucas wants a brother, so I´m going to have two babies. Well, we´ll see what the Lord provides :-). As far as I know, her request won´t be fulfilled in the near future!

She has also become a little comedian. She has all these facial expressions she uses as she´s talking. I think she knows that she looks cute! As she talks, she opens her eyes wide and starts shaking her head back and forth to cause her curls to bob. It´s pretty funny. And the funniest thing is hearing my own words coming out of her mouth. She loves to repeat whatever Jon or I say.
