Here are the long awaited pictures! :-) One is the front of our house. It has a nice bougainvillea over the wall (good for keeping people from climbing over because it has thorns!!). It really makes the house look pretty colorful!
After starting out so well, Boomer has been having some trouble with potty training. I've had to clean up several messes. :-( The kids really like him though. Ellie is warming up to him (she's not as scared of him anymore). Lucas loves taking Boomer's bone and throwing it around the house. Boomer's favorite toy is an empty 5 liter water bottle. I guess kids and puppies are a lot alike, because our kids liked to play with water bottles too!
As you can see, our car is pretty "low-profile" :-). It's not even a bright eye catching color! :-) Right now it's in the shop getting a tune up and seat belts installed in the back (for the kids). Here there aren't so many laws about car seats and all that. Although, I do feel better with the kids strapped into something :-)!
The other day at the table, Lucas was doing something (maybe making funny noises or something--I don't remember) and Ellie said, "Stop Lucas, that not polite!" We've been working on what is acceptable and polite and she apparently picked that word up :-).
Recently we had a Field Council meeting at our house and so the Carters were here (along with the other missionaries). Lucas and Ellie were thrilled to have their buddies over to play! They did really well playing together and staying upstairs during the meeting. The only problem was that since the ceiling kind of slopes down from the upstairs to the living room, all the noise echoed down. I don't think it bothered most of the people, but I know that at least us moms couldn't help but keep our ears tuned to what was going on upstairs. So, sometimes I only caught snatches of the meeting :-).
Overall, we're settling in well. We've decided to beging attending a church in Chia (a city on the outskirts of Bogota). They need some help, so we'll be helping out where we can. We will be working with the Colombian pastor kind of like assistants. We'll won't start attending there for a couple of weeks because we've committed to visit some other churches first. Jon's even preaching at one of them in March!
I'm disappointed, I forgot my camera when we went to Tunal. So, I didn't get a picture of the new floor; but, next time we go I'll hopefully remember and then I'll post a picture of it! :-)
