Yesterday was our first day of school!

Ellie is happy to have "her" books that she gets to work in now. She still quickly gets tired of coloring (and writing). I told her that she had to keep at it so that her muscles could get stronger and she wouldn't get so tired. We've had a couple of episodes where she just didn't want to work anymore and wanted to go back to playing like she used to do. But, I think she'll gradually start to get into it more.

Lucas was shocked to discover that Second grade is harder than First. Right now we're trying to focus on the fact that we're working for God and we need to do our best without complaining. He's excited about all the books he gets to hear me read to him this year (he's not so excited about all the books HE'LL be reading this year :-)).
Starting school has been a little complicated this month because we signed them up to go to a daycare for three afternoons a week. Mostly it's to help their Spanish improve and help their social skills. Needless to say, with two of them in school, it's hard to get through all the material in the morning so they can get to "class" in the afternoon. We may have to discontinue the daycare. But, they absolutely love going and playing with other kids. It's the highlight of their day (on the days they go).
Also, they just got their uniforms for Tae-Kwon-Do. So they are flying high right now! I have yet to let them watch some footage of Tae-Kwon-Do from the Olympics. I'm sure they'd really enjoy it!
