Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!

We had a pretty good December. The only hitch was that I had to have laproscopic surgery. The good thing was that it was not on December 24 (which it could have been). It is a neat thing (even if you don´t like talking about surgeries). They insert a little camera and then make two other little holes to put their instruments in. The doctor showed me the video of what they did, but it was hard to tell what anything was. However, we´re praising the Lord that it wasn´t as serious as it could have been, and it only took about four days to get back to some normality.

We tried to go around to the different parks and see how they were decorated for the holidays, but we only managed to see one. There was so much traffic that we couldn´t even get near the other parks. Oh well, the one we saw was nice too. There was a gigantic tree, and they even had a model city of Bethlehem.

Added to all the fun we´d already been having :-). . .we also were looking for a house in Chia. Finally, we found a house and are now seriously packing (before it was kind of a "if I have time" packing). So now we have a living room decorated with boxes! I really need to put the tree away before it gets buried behind them!

This last weekend we went on a retreat with the church from Tunal (the south of town). We went to Sasaima, the camp we were at last year for a youth camp. We had a great time and felt like this:

Wooohooo!

Needless to say, it was a splash!

In the midst of our hospital visiting, celebrating, packing, schooling, and vacationing we are rejoicing that God is in control and at how He has continued to guide us all along. Thanks so much for keeping us in your prayers!

Oh, and for those of you who like to keep up on our pets. . .yesterday was Mijke´s birthday! :-) She is now 1! We didn´t really celebrate. She definitely did not feel like celebrating because I put a doll dress on her to take her picture. She wasn´t pleased about that. But, she did get some treats and I´m still thinking about something to get her for a present. Perhaps some Soft-Paws (kind of like fake nails--they come in a neat pink!). Although, she may not really enjoy a present like that. :-) It´s the thought that counts (it´s a good way to keep her from scratching my couch--tee, hee, hee)!
