I did some research on the web and found out that the strange looking caterpillar is a type of "monkey slug" that turns into a Hag moth. We'll see if ours manages to get to moth stage. It did start sewing itself to a leaf, and I think is now pupating (I'm not sure if that's how you spell it :-)). The other caterpillar is really fat and I think it should make a chrysalis soon. I hope it doesn't die! We'll be on a trip this weekend, so I'm hoping that the moth doesn't emerge while we're gone!
The kids have been difficult the last couple of days. I think it's because they don't feel too good. At least today they've done really well. We bought them some boots which they love to wear and which I love because their feet don't get wet.
Lucas made up a complete song in Spanish. It was mostly names of animals in Spanish, but the funniest part was that he kept stopping and asking me how to tell him the names in Spanish ("Mommy, how do you say squid in Spanish?"--I have no idea!!).
Ellie has started saying "¿Por que?" (why?). And, she has adjusted her Spanish and now says "no quiero" (I don't want to/any) instead of "no quiere" (he/she doesn't want to/any). You didn't know that you would get Spanish lessons in my blog did you?!! :-) If she wants something she says "Mommy, ven aqui" (Mommy, come here) and drags me over to whatever she wants me to get. It's pretty funny!
I think they're both progressing really well in Spanish. Lucas is even learning Bible verses in Spanish. They seem to understand most things pretty well. It's so neat to see how easy it is for kids to learn other languages (without really even trying). Too bad it doesn't stay that way :-)!
